Nevertheless, a plaintiff need not be aware of either the specific facts or the actual negligent cause of the injury. (Knowles v. Superior Court (2004) 118 Cal.App.4th 1290, 1295.) Rather, once the plaintiff has a suspicion of wrongdoing, and therefore an incentive to sue, the one-year period for suit begins. (Jolly, supra, 44 Cal.3d at p. 1111.)
