Is there a fiduciary duty between a solicitor and a notary dealing with the opposite party?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Hendriks v T. Dale Roberts Notary Corp., 2018 BCSC 770 (CanLII):

No fiduciary duty exists between a solicitor and the opposite party in a transaction: Young v. Borzoni, 2007 BCCA 16 at paras. 51-52. I see no reason why this same principle would not encompass a notary dealing with an opposite party.
