What is the current state of the law regarding access to children by the husband and wife?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from K.F.M. v. T.J.M., 2003 ABQB 670 (CanLII):

It is fortuitous in this matter that the husband presently lives in a two-bedroom condominium which is located only approximately two to three blocks away from the wife’s house. Taking into account all of the various factors as enunciated in Young v. Young, supra, I conclude that some access is in the best interests of the children, however, that access must be supervised, not overnight, and the husband cannot drive the children anywhere.
