What is the effect of a material change in circumstances affecting the husband's ability to pay maintenance?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Range v. Bremner, 2003 BCSC 2038 (CanLII):

The facts of this case are different from the facts in Swanson v. Mitchell Bay. The arbitration clause in that case was very broad, whereas the arbitration clause in this case is a narrow one, relating only to the quantum of adjusted maintenance upon a material change of circumstances decreasing the husband’s ability to pay. It does not relate to all support obligations.
