Subrule 57.01(4)(c) specifically authorizes the court, in exercising its discretion under s. 131 of the Courts of Justice Act, to award substantial indemnity costs. Substantial indemnity costs are an amount that is 1.5 times the lawyer’s partial indemnity rates: McNeil v. Brewers Retail Inc., 2008 ONCA 405, at para. 73.
