On the other hand, in my view, the applicant has not made out a case for the cessation of spousal support. This was a very long-term relationship, in excess of 20 years, where the effects of a woman assuming and remaining in a traditional role, has a lingering effect on the future of both parties. I note that the SSAG says that spousal support for such a duration of marriage is “indefinite” which, in my view, reflects some of the considerations referenced in Moge v. Moge, 1992 CanLII 25 (SCC), [1992] 3 S.C.R. 813.
