Can a husband reduce his wife's spousal support after the wife's health problems and difficult financial circumstances?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Van Horne v. Van Horne, 2007 CanLII 16457 (ON SC):

Spousal support can be decreased in cases where there is a material change in the support payor’s circumstances despite the support recipient’s health problems and difficult financial circumstances. (Ravka v. Ravka, 2003 Carswell Ont. 3090) The respondent’s financial circumstances would presumably have been improved if she had been working in the period after the Minutes of Settlement were signed.
