How have courts interpreted the presumption that a payor’s financial disclosure can be used to avoid having to meet a support obligation?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Knowles v. Alachiotis, 2010 ONSC 3665 (CanLII):

As stated in MacKinnon v. MacKinnon at para. 23, this presumption “serves to encourage payors to make early and accurate financial disclosure and to move promptly to resolution or disposition. It also serves to caution payors that there is no benefit to be gained from avoiding support obligations.”
