What is the effect of a bill of sale of chattels in a place of business?

Nova Scotia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Royal Bank of Canada v. Madill, 1981 CanLII 2995 (NS CA):

I should point out that in Collyer v. Isaacs there was a bill of sale of chattels in a place of business together with all other chattels which might be "or at any time thereafter be brought thereon in addition to or in substitution thereof".

In Holroyd v. Marshall, the subject-matter was machinery, "... which during the continuance of this security, shall be fixed or placed in or about the said mill ...".

Clements v. Matthews (1883), 11 Q.B.D. 808, appears to make a distinction between a bill of sale of growing and other crops which would thereafter be on the farm in question and those which would be on "any other premises of the mortgagor".
