An award for loss of future earning capacity recognizes that a plaintiff’s capacity to earn income is an asset that has been taken away. If a plaintiff’s permanent injury limits her capacity to perform certain activities and consequently impairs her income-earning capacity, she is entitled to compensation: Rosvold v. Dunlop, 2001 BCCA 1 at para. 8.
