What is the test for good faith in a claim of false imprisonment?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Makwana v. Bishnu, 2017 ONSC 4916 (CanLII):

In Rose v. Pica 2011 ONSC, the trial judge, McIssac J., relies on Koop v. Smith 1915 CanLII 26 (SCC), [1915] 51 S.C.R. 554 for the proposition that claims of good faith in the face of suspicious circumstances should be supported by evidence independent of interested parties (para. 7).
