The three strikes law is a statute targeting recidivists. It is not to be judged by a standard different from treatment of prior criminal behavior in other sentencing contexts, and might, as stated in Jones v. United States, be "distinguishable for constitutional purposes from other facts that might extend the range of possible sentencing." (--- U.S. at ----, 119 S.Ct. at p. 1227.)
