5. The "curtilage," or the area "'immediately surrounding and associated with the home,'" is "'intimately linked to the home, both physically and psychologically,'" and therefore forms part of the home for Fourth Amendment purposes. (Florida v. Jardines (2013) 569 U.S. 1, 6-7.) "The front porch is the classic exemplar of an area adjacent to the home and 'to which the activity of home life extends.' [Citation.]" (Id. at p. 7.)
